Apprentice wool dyers!!

I let my 3 youngest loose with the kool aid!!!

They have been wanting to help for ages so I let them dye their own skein and I will knit them up a little teddy with their wool :o)

On the left is Oliver's (age 9) middle is Nick's (age 2) and right is Edward's (age 4)

2 skeins of organic merino hand dyed with kool aid available to buy in the store now!

Earthhues dyed skeins

some organic merino hand dyed with natural earth hues dyes.

I did a skein in each of the darker colour ways and then did another skein in the same dyes just diluted a bit!

The yellow and grey skeins were dyed with fustic and logwood Grey

The pink and purple skeins with lac, madder and logwood purple

I think I will use the lighter yellow/grey combo for the legs of those longies and am thinking alternate stripes for the pink/purple skeins....keep your eyes peeled at the next Buy WAHM Month!

This wool has been dyed using acid dyes in a kind of pastel rainbow colourway...very pretty and girly!

My little box of tricks!

On the left is quite a good selection of ready mixed colours of procion and acid dyes. On the right at the top primary colours and black acid dye which are brilliant for mixing to achieve some stunning colourways. In the middle is just a small collection of earthhues natural dyes....I am planning on trying lots more!

At the bottom right is my very depleted stash of Kool aid..very much in need of a re stock!
